In this month the common tradition to celebrate is called “Los Reyes Magos”. Is about three kings that helped Jesus, they are like a Santa Claus but Mexicans, every kid wrote a letter of their wishes on January 5, hopping that the gifts the asked for would be the next day on January 6. It is supposed that they give gifts only to the children that have a good conduct.
The history of this tradition is about the catholic religion, the three kings are called Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar.


In January 6 is usual to eat a cake called “la rosca de reyes” so in this tradition is supposed that in the part of cake you eat could be a fake baby, if your part have one, on February 2 the tradition said that you have to make tamales for everyone.
